Audit Tasmania is an independent agency doing meaningful work to uphold public integrity in Tasmania. We audit for a better Tasmania.

Our work supports accountability, transparency and better decision-making across the Tasmanian public sector. We play an important role in building public trust and confidence in government, providing assurance to those who do business with government, and helping to improve how services are delivered to the Tasmanian community.

The work we do assists the Auditor-General to provide independent insights to Parliament on how public resources are managed and how government services are delivered. Through financial and performance audits, we examine whether public sector entities are reporting accurately, operating effectively and delivering value for the Tasmanian community. In doing so, we help strengthen trust, improve services and support informed decisions that benefit all Tasmanians.

We work across a diverse range of sectors, from health and education to infrastructure, environment and emerging areas such as sustainability and technology. Our role is independent and evidence-based, and our reporting contributes to a stronger and more transparent future for Tasmania. It is meaningful work, in a meaningful place.
