To be eligible for the Tasmanian State Service Graduate Development Program (TasGrad), you must meet the following requirements.

Qualifications

You must:

  • Hold a minimum three-year undergraduate degree, or completed your postgraduate degree (or the same as level 7 and above of the Australian Qualifications Framework) between 1 January 2025 and 31 January 2027.
  • If applying with a postgraduate qualification, you must also have completed a three-year undergraduate degree.

  • Communications
  • Public Policy
  • Human Resources
  • Engineering

Work rights

You must:

  • Have the right to work in Australia, this includes:
    • Australian and New Zealand citizens,
    • Permanent residents,
    • Visa holder eligible to work full-time in Australia until the end of February 2029.
  • If you require a visa, you must obtain it by 31 January 2027.

Availability

You must be available to commence employment in Tasmania by February 2027.

Overseas transcripts and qualifications

If you completed your qualification outside of Australia, you will need to provide evidence of Overseas Qualification Recognition at the time of application.

If your recognition is still being processed, you can submit proof of lodgement (such as a receipt of submission).

Please note, the recognition process can take up to three months.

If you have completed (or are currently completing) a post graduate degree in Australia, you do not need to provide Overseas Degree Recognition for your undergraduate qualification.

Interstate applicants

We welcome applicants from across Australia.

Online interviews are available throughout the recruitment process. If successful, you must be ready to commence work in Tasmania by February 2027.
