Child safeguarding training and resources (coming soon)

The Tasmanian Government is developing free child safeguarding training as part of its response to the Commission of Inquiry.

These resources will help organisations across Tasmania take a shared, consistent approach to keeping children and young people safe. They will be ready to use and easy to adapt to your organisation’s own policies and ways of working.

The training will be reviewed and updated each year to reflect best practice, changes to the law and feedback.

Who the training is for?

The training will be for every adult in Tasmania, including staff, volunteers and contractors, whether paid or unpaid, to help keep children safe.

Additional resources are planned for leaders and managers.

Recommended training pathway

When the training becomes available, it will include:

  • A Tell Someone introductory video (for everyone)
  • A Safety and Reporting module (in multiple formats)

The training will be self-paced and include real-life examples and practical steps. It will explain responsibilities, trauma-informed approaches and how people are held accountable in their roles.
