Introducing our new framework to monitor Tasmania’s literacy outcomes
Tasmania’s Lifting Literacy project has an aspirational target to achieve 100% literacy so Tasmanians can benefit from literacy skills and knowledge in all aspects of their lives. To monitor progress against this goal, the Lifting Literacy Outcomes Monitoring Group is pleased to share the Lifting Literacy Outcomes Monitoring Framework. The framework will enable the Lifting Literacy Outcomes Monitoring Group to monitor how Tasmania is progressing and how implementing the Lifting Literacy recommendations is making a difference.
The framework, developed by the Lifting Literacy Outcomes Monitoring Group, identifies the outcomes we are targeting for Tasmanians in their Early Years and School Years and for Adult Learners and identifies indicators that can be consistently monitored through time to show progress toward these outcomes.
We know it will take time to see the full benefits of implementing the Lifting Literacy reforms and the Framework will help us to stay on track.
The Lifting Literacy Outcomes Monitoring Group will track progress against the outcomes in the Lifting Literacy Outcomes Monitoring Framework and periodically report to government.
You can explore the Lifting Literacy Outcomes Monitoring Framework on the Lifting Literacy website.
The Lifting Literacy Outcomes Monitoring Group is an independent skills-based group that monitors progress and outcomes from implementation of the Lifting Literacy Implementation Plan 2024‑2026. The group meets quarterly and is chaired by Dr Michele Bruniges.
