On 1 July 2025, the Child and Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) introduced Kids Live to Learn — a new literacy-focused 18-month Child Health Assessment (CHA).

Kids Live to Learn focuses on literacy development through the child–caregiver relationship. It supports caregivers in their role as their child’s first teacher, with targeted education and family focused discussions along with resources and referrals for early intervention.

The new 18-month Child Health Assessment is part of the Tasmanian Government’s Lifting Literacy Implementation Plan which is building strong foundations for lifelong learning.
