FISHERIES (MARINE PLANT MANAGEMENT PLAN) ORDER 2026

I make the following order under section 48A of the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995.

1.  Short title

This Order may be cited as the Fisheries (Marine Plant Management Plan) Order 2026.

2.  Commencement

This Order takes effect on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

3. Rule 5 of Fisheries (Marine Plant) Rules 2017 changed

Rule 5 of the Fisheries (Marine Plant) Rules 2017* is changed by omitting “These rules continue in effect for 10 years” and substituting "These rules continue in effect for 12 years".

(Explanatory note)

This Order extends the duration of the management plan for the marine plant fishery to provide continued operation of the management plan as implementation of new rules for the fishery are finalised.
