NOTICE OF THE REVOCATION OF THE DETERMINATION OF THE CLOSED SEASON FOR THE COMMERCIAL BLACKLIP ABALONE FISHERY AND ABALONE FISHERY CLOSURE TO SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES
I, Rachel McKay, Acting General Manager (Marine Resources) in the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania, acting pursuant to a delegation from the Minister administering the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 (the Act), and acting pursuant to section 22 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1931 and further acting pursuant to rule 9 of the Fisheries (Abalone) Rules 2017 (the Rules), hereby revoke the determinations relating to closing part of the Blacklip Abalone fishery including to specific activities made by published notice under rule 9 of the Rules on 3 July 2026 (‘determination for abalone sub-blocks 14B and 14C, and blocks 15 and 18’) with effect from 12:01 am 21 August 2026.

Any expression used, having a particular meaning under the Act or the Rules, has the same meaning in this notice.

This notice has the effect of revoking the determination closing part of the commercial Blacklip Abalone fishery in State waters of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, Derwent River, and Betsey Island areas (inclusive of sub-blocks 14B and 14C, and blocks 15 and 18) from Friday 12:01 am 21 August 2026.
