NOTICE OF THE REVOCATION AND DETERMINATION OF DATES OF THE CLOSED SEASON FOR A PART OF THE ABALONE FISHERY

NOTICE OF THE REVOCATION AND DETERMINATION OF ABALONE FISHERY CLOSURE TO SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES
I, Dr David Midson, General Manager (Marine Resources) in the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania, acting pursuant to a delegation from the Minister administering the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 (the Act), and acting pursuant to section 22 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1931, hereby revoke my determinations relating to closing part of the Blacklip Abalone fishery including to specific activities made by published notice under rule 9 of the Fisheries (Abalone) Rules 2017 on 26 March 2026 (‘determination for abalone blocks 14, 15, 18 and sub-block 17A’), with effect from 11:59 pm 5 July 2026.
In this notice:
All coordinates of latitude and longitude are to be determined by reference to the Geocentric Datum of Australia (also known as "the GDA" or "GDA94") as defined in the Commonwealth Gazette No. GN 35, 6 September 1995.
Any expression used, having a particular meaning under the Act or the Rules, has the same meaning in this notice.

This notice has the effect of revoking the determination closing part of the commercial Blacklip Abalone fishery in State waters of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, Derwent River, and Betsey Island areas (inclusive of blocks 14, 15, 18 and sub-block 17A) from Sunday 11:59 pm 5 July 2026.
