I, Dr Ian Dutton, Director (Marine Resources) in the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment, acting pursuant to a delegation from the Minister for Primary Industries and Water made on 12 November 2018 and acting pursuant to section 20(1) of the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 ("the Act"), hereby determine under rule 11 of the Fisheries (Rock Lobster) Rules 2011 (the Rules) that:
- the part of the commercial rock lobster fishery that comprises of the activities of the taking of rock lobster for commercial purposes in “eastern waters" is closed from 00:01 19 July 2022 to midnight 28 February 2023 inclusive; and
- the setting of a rock lobster pot for commercial purposes in, “eastern waters" is closed from 00:01 19 July 2022 to 13:00 28 February 2023 inclusive;
“eastern waters" is defined to mean the area of State waters adjacent to the east coast of Tasmania bounded in the north on the east coast by the line of latitude at 40º 59' 35" South running due east from Eddystone Point and bounded in the south on the south east coast by the line of latitude at 43º 30' 58" South running due east of Tasman Head, Bruny Island.
Words and expressions used in this public notice have the same meaning as in the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 and the Fisheries (Rock Lobster) Rules 2011.
