Notice of public exhibition of the draft management plan for the Tasmanian Mackerel Fishery

NOTICE OF PUBLIC EXHIBITION OF THE DRAFT MANAGEMENT PLAN

FOR THE TASMANIAN MACKEREL FISHERY

Pursuant to the powers under section 44(3) of the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 (the Act) that were delegated to the Director (Marine Resources) on 20 January 2016 by the Secretary acting pursuant to section 20(2) of the Act, I hereby give notice that:

(a)       A draft management plan for the Tasmanian Mackerel Fishery has been prepared in the form of the Fisheries (Mackerel) Rules 2018.

​(b)       The fishery to which the draft management plan relates is the Mackerel Fishery.

(c)       A person many submit a written representation in relation to the draft management plan.

(d)       The period during which written representation may be made is on and from Wednesday, 7 November 2018 until 5:00 pm on Monday, 14 January 2019.

(e)       Written representations relating to the draft management plan should be sent to:

​  Mackerel Review, DPIPWE - Wild Fisheries Management Branch, GPO Box 44, HOBART, TAS, 7001

(f)        Copies of the draft management plan may be obtained from the:

      • Department's website at www.dpipwe.tas.gov.au/mackerel; or
      • Fisheries Licensing Section of the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment, located on the first floor of the Marine Board Building at 1 Franklin Wharf, Hobart.

(g)       Copies of the draft management plan are free of charge.

(h)       The draft management plan will be exhibited at the Fisheries Licensing Section of the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment, located on the first floor of the Marine Board Building at 1 Franklin Wharf, Hobart.

(i)     The exhibition period is on and from Wednesday, 7 November 2018 until 5:00 pm on Monday, 14 January 2019.
