PUBLIC NOTICE – ESTABLISHING THE NORTH EAST CATCH-CAP FOR THE ROCK LOBSTER FISHERY FOR THE 2022-2023 QUOTA PERIOD
I, Guy Barnett, Minister administering the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 (the Act), pursuant to Section 94 (2)(b) and (c) of the Act, for the quota period from 1 March 2022 to 28 February 2023, hereby:
1. Determine the area of State waters adjacent to the north east coast of Tasmania bounded in the south on the north east coast by the line of latitude at 41º 16’ 30” South running due east from St Helens Point and bounded in the north on the north coast by the line of longitude at 146º 32’ 00” East running due north of Point Sorell (Port Sorell), to be the rock lobster north east catch-cap area; and,
2. Determine that the portion of the rock lobster total allowable commercial catch to be taken from the north east catch-cap area is 100 tonnes.
Expressions used in this Public Notice have the same meaning as in the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 and the Fisheries (Rock Lobster) Rules 2011.

INFORMATION
This notice establishes the catch-cap for the area of the commercial rock lobster fishery between St Helens Point and Point Sorell (Port Sorell), including the Furneaux Group of islands for the 2022/23 quota year. Once the catch-cap is reached, the north east catch-cap area will be closed via another public notice.
