1000kms4kids is an annual charity event supporting Tasmanian kids in need. The event begins New Year's Day and runs through to Australia Day (26 January), with three paddlers in sea kayaks paddling for a minimum of 1000 kms along the southern, eastern and northern seaboards of Tasmania
